Sister Mary Rose Feeney, C.S.J., a Sister of St. Joseph, Brentwood, for 63 years, died April 21 while in hospice care in Maria Regina Residence.
She entered the congregation in 1955 from St. Camillus parish, Rockaway Beach.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Brentwood College in 1963, and a master’s in religion from St. Michael’s College, Colchester, Vt., in 1974.
Formerly known as Sister Rose Andrew, she taught at St. Clare, Rosedale, 1958-62; St. Pascal Baylon, St. Albans, 1962-63, and 1963-65; SS Cyril and Methodius in Deer Park, L.I., 1965-70; Fontbonne Hall Academy, Bay Ridge, 1971-83; and The Mary Louis Academy in Jamaica Estates, 1983-91.
Her final assignment was at her home parish of St. Camillus, 1991-2009. She retired in 2010.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
