
Father Richard V. Kuhn, S.M., who was about to celebrate his 60th anniversary as a Marianist priest, died July 5. He was 90.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 12 at Annunciation Church, Baltimore, Md.
Born in Jamaica, and raised in Bellerose, he attended Our Lady of Lourdes School, Queens Village, and Most Holy Trinity H.S., Williamsburg, before entering the Marianist community and professing first vows in 1946 in Beacon, N.Y. He was ordained a priest in Fribourg, Switzerland on Aug. 20, 1958.
He served as a teacher, chaplain, and prefect at various high schools, including teaching at his alma mater, Most Holy Trinity, from 1961 to 1963.
Since 1985, he was involved in retreat work in New Jersey and North Carolina. He lived in Baltimore, Md., while assisting Marianist Family groups, lay faith
communities, nursing homes and retreat centers.
He is survived by his brother, Lawrence Kuhn, of Hampton Bays, and a sister, Mary Anne Carl, of Queens.
